Madeleine Moriarty's portrait commissions are found in executive, family and individual private collections nationally. Her portrait paintings include prominent leaders in business, law, medicine and education, as well as memorial portraits. She has exhibited in selected museums and galleries including The Paul Mellon Arts Center in Wallingford, Connecticut, The Salmagundi Club and The National Arts Club in New York City, The Lauren Rogers Museum in Laurel, Mississippi, and The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Museum in West Branch, Iowa.

Notable among the artist's work is her full length memorial portrait of Marian Anderson for The Danbury Music Centre. A reproduction of this portrait honoring the historically famous singer was placed in The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Museum in an exhibit of "Famous American Women." It is now included in the permanent collection of The National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.


Madeleine attended The Art Students League in New York and received her BFA from The Memphis College of Arts. She studied portraiture for several years with portrait artist, Daniel Greene in North Salem, New York. She completed master classes at the New York School of Visual Arts and with John Howard Sanden at the Portrait Institute of New York.

The artist is included in The International Who's Who of Professional and Business Women.

Madeleine is past president of The Connecticut Pastel Society. She is the owner of Deer Hill Studio in Brookfield, Connecticut where she specializes in Fine Art Portrait Commissions and Art Instruction. Her workshops are available both in studio and nationally.
