· A typical meeting for preparation of the portrait takes one to two days. · Subjects for the initial meeting cover pose and attitude of the portrait, dress and location of the pose, size of the painting and consideration of where the portrait will hang. · Photographs will cover a variety of poses and lighting and location settings (indoor and/or outdoor). · Film will be developed locally for review that day by the client and myself. Often there is a second shoot either the same day or the following. Prints remain with the client and are forwarded to my studio when the final choices have been made. · To insure a clear understanding of intentions for color and composition, I will make a small oil sketch to scale of the final portrait. This is sent for the subject's approval and on receipt, work begins on the final painting. · Depending on complexity of composition and existing schedules, the painting will be ready for delivery in three to six months. · With client agreement, I will deliver the painting and make requested changes on location. |
