The value of a portrait extends beyond the surface it is built upon, and the materials used to create it. The story being told may highlight a life remembered, capture a fleeting moment, or illustrate the bonds between us. My passion as an artist is to find the voice of that story through the colors, textures, shadows and light that will tell it the strongest.
After studying Art and Visual Communications with a B.F.A from the University of Delaware, I have continued to approach the art I create as poetry. As boundless as the inferences made and emotions felt while viewing a piece, I love exploring the intersection between the shapes and physical attributes of what we see, as metaphors of the stories we tell.
