I am a Florida based artist raised in the town of Anderson, South Carolina. I attempt to create works that would intrigue and lure the viewer. I am influenced by an appreciation for wistful nostalgia, haute fine art and vintage illustration.
In 1976, I acquired formal training through a scholarship to Parsons School of Design in New York City. During my first year as a student I was hired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art as an illustrator for the museum’s costume reproduction department. The institutions there attributed greatly to my gaining invaluable experience and direction in working as a painter.
Since that time, I have created artwork for numerous award-winning projects from advertising agencies and design firms to museums through out the north and southeast as well as the mid-west. My path to painting full time has been an evolving journey. The purpose has grown from a fascination of personal expression into the desire for creating fine art that attempts to provoke it’s viewer. I’m currently in pursuit of creating a variety of themed pieces ranging from black and white as well as in living color.
