Anne Richbourg has always been passionate about the arts. Even at the age of four or five she remembers loving art, especially drawing and painting pictures of her family , nature , and animals. As an artist she works in a variety of media and subject matter. However it is the human form which has captured her deepest interest.
Anne received her B.A. in Art and French from Salem College and her M. A. and Art Specialist degrees from the University of South Carolina. During her junior year she studied in Paris where she surrounded herself with the French language, French people and of course the beauty of art and architecture. Besides studying French, she also studied figure painting with Yves Brayer at L'Atelier de La Grande Chaumiere. After graduating from college, Anne taught secondary art for twenty eight years until her retirement in 2003. Teaching allowed her to strengthen her own skills while promoting the talents of her many loved students.
After her retirement, Anne began her second career as an artist. She studied with several nationally recognized portrait artists, including Daniel Green, Michael del Priore, Thomas Nash, Natalie Italiano of Studio Incamminati, and sculptor Tuck Langland.
In addition she has studied plein air painting with Casey Sealy of Australia. Anne is a member of The Portrait Society of America and Oil painters of America.
Her studio is in her hometown of Greenville, SC where she resides with her husband, two cats and two dogs.
