Elizabeth Sanden graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and also studied at The University of Lyon, France and The Art Students League of New York. She is the co-founder (with her husband, John Howard Sanden) of The Portrait Institute. She has taught portrait painting classes in New York at The Portrait Institute and in seminars and workshops across America. The Sandens maintained a studio in Carnegie Hall until 2008 when they were forced to move due to interior renovations of the historic building.
Elizabeth works mainly in her Ridgefield, Connecticut studio, however she will travel for sittings to your location or to New York City at The New York Athletic Club on Seventh Avenue and Central Park South.
