These artists are featured here as a public service and most are not Stroke of Genius listed artists. They have either won the Sargent Medal from American Society of Portrait Artists or the Founder's Gold Medal from the Portrait Society of America or both. These are lifetime achievement awards given to those who are at the top of their field and have made major contributions to the field of portraiture. Most have made significant contributions in teaching others.
